CBCA presents the Business in the Arts Awards at an annual luncheon event as a salute to those outstanding business/arts partnerships.

Lockheed Martin

Large Business Winner

Lockheed Martin uses both advanced technology and corporate philanthropy to improve the way people live and interact. They proudly support the arts as part of their investment in strategic business goals and the quality of life in the communities where their employees work and live.

The Space Odyssey exhibit at the Denver Museum of Nature & Science is an inspiring example of Lockheed Martin’s corporate citizenship. They were the first company to commit to the project with a $1 million donation, as well as sharing their passion for space science by providing expertise, space artifacts, and employee volunteers.

Lockheed Martin has been a major contributor to organizations ranging from The Littleton Historical Museum to The Jefferson Symphony, Cherry Creek Arts Festival, and Colorado Children’s Chorale.

Fine Arts Foundation
Community Leadership Winner

The mission of the Fine Arts Foundation is to support cultural organizations and programs in Colorado. Since the 1960’s, dedicated volunteers have raised and distributed over $1 million to a wide variety of arts nonprofit organizations, supporting professional and amateur opportunities for youth and adults.

Through their two annual fundraising events, the Summer Debutante Ball and the Citizen of the Arts Jubilee dinner, the Fine Arts Foundation provides critical financial support for arts programs, while promoting community service and arts philanthropy.

Central City Opera, Cleo Parker Robinson Dance, Denver Young Artists Orchestra, Paragon Theatre Company, and St. Martin’s Chamber Choir are among the many organizations that benefit by grants given annually by the Fine Arts Foundation.

Ellen Bruss & Mark Falcone
Individual Leadership Winner

When Ellen Bruss and Mark Falcone donated land as a permanent home for the Museum of Contemporary Art/Denver, they were continuing their long commitment to ensuring that Denver will have world-class cultural opportunities.

A shared love for arts and culture is one thing that brought Ellen and Mark together, and it is a passion they generously share with emerging arts organizations. Our community benefits from their professional work in real estate development and graphic design and their service as board members and philanthropists. Ellen and Mark see a key role for the arts in Denver’s community development and economic vitality.

Ellen and Mark also support individual artists through their extensive collection of regional, national, and international contemporary art.
