
Nominations, Eligibility, Criteria
Nominations
The process is simple.
1.
Download the nomination form by clicking here:
www.cbca.org/pdfs/awards_08_nom_form.pdf.
2.
Check the appropriate award category (see categories below).
3.
Write a brief description of the business/arts partnership
or project for which you are nominating the company.
4.
Submit nomination by email, mail, or fax to CBCA by Monday, November 12, 2007, 5:00 pm.
A panel of judges will review the nominations and select three finalists in
each category to be announced in January 2008. Judges will then evaluate
the finalists and winners will be announced at the 2008 Business for the Arts
Awards Luncheon on
Thursday, March 20, 2008.
Eligibility
All companies doing business in Colorado are eligible for these awards. Nominations
must be for programs or activities that take place in Colorado. Nonprofit
cultural organizations are not eligible.
Evaluation Criteria
Judges evaluate the nominees on:
• The quality and extent of the business/arts partnership or engagement
• Innovation and creativity of the partnership or engagement
• The effect on
- the company and their employees
- cultural organization(s) and/or project(s)
- community vitality and opportunity
• The level and type of support relative to business size and capacity
Judges are:

• Roz Schneider, Principal, Barker Rinker Seacat Architecture
Business for the Arts Awards™ are presented in the following categories:
Philanthropy Award
Corporate philanthropic support is critical to sustain arts and culture, the
cornerstone of community vitality. Commitment to the arts supports a wide
variety of community priorities including quality of life, education, and economic
development. At the same time, charitable giving generates goodwill and adds
value to business enterprises. The
Philanthropy Award recognizes exemplary
corporate citizenship and generosity to arts and culture.
Innovation Award
The integration of entrepreneurial and artistic approaches creates innovation
and business success. The synthesis of business and arts can take the form
of a creative business, ingenious product, imaginative promotional/public
relations campaign, or inventive business/arts partnership. The
Innovation Award recognizes a strategic use of arts to propel company success.
Workforce Award
Companies recognize that arts opportunities for their employees build skills,
unleash creative potential, keep morale high, and provide outlets for community
engagement. Whether through volunteer service to arts organizations or through
arts-based programming that advances teamwork, innovation, or cultural competency,
businesses benefit from increased employee commitment and achievement. The
Workforce Award recognizes business programs that engage employees with creativity and the arts.
Workspace Award
The physical environment in which we work influences employee and business
prosperity. Through architecture, interior design, space planning, art collections,
or individual efforts, workspace can foster employee creativity, innovation,
and morale. Well designed workspace also communicates corporate mission, identity,
and style to clients and the community. The
Workspace Award pays tribute to exceptional design that advances business objectives.
