Colorado Business Committee for the Arts Honors John Madden, Jr. at 25th Anniversary Luncheon
Denver, CO — The Colorado Business Committee for the Arts (CBCA) hosted over 700 business arts and civic leaders at the Donald Seawell Grand Ballroom on March 11, 2010 for a colorful entertainment-filled tribute to the organization and its history. John Madden, Jr., founding board chair of CBCA, was awarded the first annual CBCA John Madden Jr. Leadership Award for his demonstrated leadership in business support for the arts.
Madden led a forward thinking group of Colorado business leaders to form CBCA in 1985 with the goal of educating and motivating the business community to establish mutually beneficial business and arts partnerships. For over forty years, his development projects in Greenwood Village have incorporated art, architecture and landscaping. Madden founded the Museum of Outdoor Art in 1981, established Fiddler's Green in 1988 and opened The Madden Museum of Art in 2008. He has also offered philanthropic support to many other Denver art and cultural institutions.

Colorado Business Committee for the Arts Announces PrintFolio 2010 - New Program to Spotlight Arts Community and Introduce Art Collecting
Denver, CO — The Colorado Business Committee for the Arts (CBCA) announces PrintFolio 2010, a program that features a limited edition suite of four fine art prints by local artists created to highlight Colorado's vibrant visual arts scene and introduce community members to the art of art collecting.
The premier limited edition of PrintFolio 2010 features new works by well known Colorado visual artists Theresa Haberkor, Mark Lunning, Jim Milmoe and Tony Ortega, who donated their time and talent to make this program a reality. The suite will be sold as an ensemble for $300, with proceeds supporting CBCA. PrintFolio will be unveiled at a Leadership Arts Alumni Network happy hour event held from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m., Thursday, February 18, at Baur's Ristorante located at 1512 Curtis St.

Denver, CO — For 13 years, Colorado Business Committee for the Arts' (CBCA) Leadership Arts program has matched over 435 professionals from all business, industry, and public sectors to the needs of arts and cultural nonprofit organizations through programming that educates, inspires and equips leaders to effectively serve on nonprofit boards of directors.
CBCA is now accepting applications for the 2009-2010 Leadership Arts class. Applications are due August 28, 2009 and are available here or by calling 303-282-5135. Limited scholarships are awarded based on financial need.

Denver, CO — Colorado Business Committee for the Arts (CBCA) announced the winners of the 16th "On My Own Time" (OMOT), Annual Multi-Company Employee Art Exhibition at an awards reception on Friday, May 23 at Republic Plaza.

CBCA 2008 Economic Activity Study of Denver Metro Culture Shows Positive Impact of Arts and Culture on Metro Area Economy
Denver, CO — Denver's arts and cultural community created $1.691 billion in economic activity in 2007, up 19% from 2005, according to a report released today by the Colorado Business Committee for the Arts (CBCA). Over 16.4 million Coloradans and other visitors attended cultural events in 2007, including 3.5 million contacts with school children. Nearly $331 million was generated from cultural tourism at area arts, cultural and scientific institutions.
City leaders presented findings of the study at a breakfast at Palettes restaurant this morning. Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper commented, "Documenting the economic contributions of arts, cultural and scientific organizations focuses attention on their value as businesses, not only as vehicles for entertainment or education. Their success is a key component of the economic vitality of the entire metro region."
The 2008 CBCA Economic Activity Study of Metro Denver Culture reflects information collected in 2007 from 93% of the nonprofits funded by Scientific Cultural Facilities District (SCFD) across the seven-county metro area including Adams, Arapahoe, Boulder, Broomfield, Denver, Douglas and Jefferson counties. The data was analyzed by Deloitte Consulting LLP and DualDraw LLC.

Leadership Arts is an innovative CBCA program that trains business people in skills needed to serve on boards of directors of nonprofit cultural organizations and fosters the exchange of ideas and information between the arts and business sectors. This year's 34 graduates represent a wide variety of organizations, among them: Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck, Colorado State Bank and Trust, Coors Brewing Company, Community First Foundation, Denver Office of Cultural Affairs, First National Bank of Colorado, Holland & Hart, McDermott Planning and Design and TIAA-CREF.
