Colorado Business Committee for the Arts (CBCA) Announces 2007 Leadership Arts | Colorado Springs Program Graduation
COLORADO SPRINGS, CO – Colorado Business Committee for the Arts (CBCA) is pleased to announce the second graduating class of Leadership Arts. A graduation luncheon was held today at Fine Arts Center, Colorado Springs.
Leadership Arts is an innovative CBCA program that trains business people in skills needed to serve on boards of directors of nonprofit cultural organizations and fosters the exchange of ideas and information between the arts and business sectors. This year’s graduates include representatives from Colorado Springs Business Journal, El Pomar Foundation, Smokebrush Foundation for the Arts and University of Colorado, Colorado Springs.
The 2006-2007 program sponsors were Bee Vradenburg Foundation, Gay & Lesbian Fund for Colorado and Colorado Springs Business Journal. “We support CBCA’s Leadership Arts program as a testament to our commitment to the Colorado Springs community and the economic contribution of the arts and cultural sector,” says Lon P. Matejczyk, Publisher, Colorado Springs Business Journal.
Deborah Jordy, CBCA Executive Director, comments, “CBAC helps drive the arts engine in Colorado Springs through our Leadership Arts training and have now trained over 30 graduates. The program prepares talented business people to effectively serve on boards of directors of arts and culture organizations.”
Leadership Arts also graduated its 11th class in Denver in 2007.
