2005 BUSINESS IN THE ARTS AWARD WINNERS HONORED
CBCA Announces Winners at 18th Annual Luncheon
Denver, CO, March 10, 2005 – In recognition of outstanding contributions from businesses and individuals in support of arts and culture in Colorado, the Colorado Business Committee for the Arts (CBCA) today will host the 18th Annual Business in the Arts Awards Luncheon in the Donald R. Seawell Grand Ballroom at The Denver Performing Arts Complex from 11:30 am until 1:00 pm. The awards recognize businesses and executives for their leadership, commitment, and vision in developing exemplary alliances with the arts.
The 2005 Business in the Arts award winners are:
Creative Workspace Winner: JohnstonWells Public Relations
Vibrant, colorful folk art fills JohnstonWells office, creating a stimulating work environment that fosters creativity, innovation, and morale. Their creative workspace also helps JohnstonWells connect with their public relations clients and speaks eloquently for the creative side of their business.
Small Business Winner: Pinyon Mortgage Corporation
Pinyon Mortgage and its President Tim Connors work tirelessly to support arts programs for K – 12 students, raising over $40,000 annually through the Art for Education art auction. This commitment reflects their “customer for life” principal of service to clients and the community.
Medium Business Winner: Alpine Banks of Colorado
For Alpine Banks, underwriting free days at the Aspen Art Museum and school outreach programs is just part of being a good neighbor and community partner. With unique programs such as their Art Card, this “local bank” combines strong customer services and charitable giving.
Large Business Winner: Lockheed Martin
Lockheed Martin’s contribution of over $1 million and space science expertise to Space Odyssey at the Denver Museum of Nature & Science highlights their investment in our community. Lockheed Martin believes support for the Jefferson Symphony and other cultural traditions enrich both the community and the lives of their employees.
Community Leadership Winner: Fine Arts Foundation
Fine Arts Foundation has raised and distributed over $1 million in funds to a broad array of cultural arts organizations in the Denver metro area since 1986. Through fundraisers including the Summer Debutante Ball and the Fine Arts Jubilee, FAF cultivates and supports a diverse artistic community.
Individual Leadership Winner: Ellen Bruss & Mark Falcone
Ellen Bruss (Ellen Bruce Design) and Mark Falcone (Contiuum Partners) combine their passion for building business success, arts, and community. Ellen & Mark’s contributions include a generous gift of land as the permanent home for the Museum of Contemporary Art and giving of their real estate development expertise and graphic design talents.
