Deborah Jordy Joins the Colorado Business Committee for the Arts as Executive Director

Denver, CO (August 18, 2004) - The Colorado Business Committee for the Arts has named Deborah Jordy as the new Executive Director for the organization. She is the fifth Executive Director in the institution's twenty-year history, and brings a record of leadership within Colorado's cultural community.

Jordy served as executive director for the Cherokee Ranch and Castle Foundation and, prior to that, the Arvada Center for the Arts and Humanities. In recent months, Jordy has provided key support as a consultant to the reauthorization campaign for the Scientific and Cultural Facilities District.

A Commissioner with the Denver Mayor's Commission on Art, Culture and Film, Jordy also sits on the board of directors for Citizens for Arts to Zoo and the Colorado Association of Non-Profit Organizations. She has been recognized by the Scientific and Cultural Facilities District and the El Pomar Foundation.

"This is an exciting time in CBCA's development as an organization," says Jordy. "The economic challenges facing both business and the arts community have produced a climate ripe for reexamining opportunities for partnership between sectors. I look forward to working directly with Colorado's business and cultural communities."

CBCA, one of 11 affiliates of the National Business Committee for the Arts, was formed in 1984 by leading Colorado businesses to encourage and enhance business support for arts and culture in Colorado. With more than 140 member businesses, CBCA serves as a catalyst for business-arts partnerships, creating awareness of the cultural community as a vehicle for employee relations, customer communication, and economic development.
